At Ferguson Trenching Company, we are committed to delivering quality work by quality people. Our growing family has over 210 employees whom are dedicated to completing your projects on time and on budget. Many of our employees have been with us for 20+ years. They are devoted to the quality and safety standards we’ve exhibited for over 55 years. Our leadership is truly invested in everything we do. The Tools

From our 200+ pieces of equipment to the training conducted to ensure the safety and quality of our work, we have the all the right tools to get the job done right the first time, every time. The specialized training conducted at our Training Center in Severn, MD aids us in being the leader in underground utilities. Our OQ certified and safety award-winning employees insure our customers, community and work sites are as safe and productive as possible.

More than a word; it’s ingrained into the culture at FTC. Mandatory monthly meetings, weekly toolbox talks, regular independent jobsite safety inspections and employee safety rewards are just a few of the programs that have been implemented to ensure a safe work environment. We maintain a commitment to our employees that their safety and health is a priority. Leadership continues to implement innovative tools to make sure every man and woman gets home safe every night.


Ferguson Trenching is proud to serve our community through different organizations, associations, and partnerships. Our team sponsors, attends, and volunteers at numerous events throughout each calendar year. These events range from industry conferences, golf outings, charity events, community service projects/fundraisers, and so much more. A little bit can go a long way and we want to help any chance we get.

Active industry memberships include Associated Builders and Contractors Chesapeake Shores Chapter, Associated Utility Contractors of Maryland, Chesapeake Region Safety Council, Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce, I Build America, National Safety Council, and Utility Contractors Association of Anne Arundel County.

We support many community initiatives including but not limited to Construction Angels, Anne Arundel County 4H, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Washington Gas WAFF Ice House, Special Olympics, Miss Utility, and more.
